TED诞生于1984年，其发起人是理查德·索·乌曼。2001年起，克里斯·安德森接管TED，创立了种子基金会（The Sapling Foundation），并运营TED大会。每年3月，TED大会在北美召集众多科学、设计、文学、音乐等领域的杰出人物，分享他们关于技术、社会、人的思考和探索。
TED（指technology, entertainment, design在英语中的缩写，即技术、娱乐、设计）是美国的一家私有非营利机构，该机构以它组织的TED大会著称，这个会议的宗旨是“传播一切值得传播的创意”。
对于我们中学生来说，身处日新月异的当今社会，他们的所见所闻所想同样值得我们倾听和探讨。本次我校初二年级组织的英文“TED Talks”大赛中，12位同学从社会、人文等等各个方面表达传播了他们的观点，相当精彩。同样可圈可点的，还有台下观众的互动，在主持人刘畅同学的提问下，观众踊跃地对每一位TED 演讲者所传递的观点给出互动。

Class 7 Chen Guo
“Figure Skating”
The soul of competition means: never give up; show respect to your rivals and audiences; always have passion and be a challenger; and finally go beyond yourself.Because of these skaters’ experiences, sometimes when we meet troubles such as maths problems and some unexpected falls, we should think of these sportsmen, from whom we will get courage. Instead of giving up, we should stand up.

“Diet Culture”
As is known to all, diet is always an important part of a country in its civilization and development. Diet culture and tastes show one of the most important parts of an area. Wang believes that as long as our research on diet is in progress, we will possibly discover and invent more kinds of delicious food.

“How to prevent radiation in daily life?”
We are surrounded by different kinds of radiation every day, such as using household electrical appliances, mobile phones, computers or being exposed in the sun. The various forms of radiation can be either beneficial or harmful, depending on their use and control. Learning how to prevent radiation around us is necessary to ensure that we are protected from unnecessary or excessive exposures.

“English Linguistics”
English is a wonderful language. It belongs to the Indo-European language family, Germanic languages. It is also the language with the third most native speakers and was assigned the official language by many countries as well as the UN. It is even the most taught country in the world. When we learn two completely different languages, try to compare them and find the similarities and differences.

“Grammy Final —
stick to your dream”
Do you know who the biggest winner of the sixtieth Grammy was? Yes, that’s right. He’s Bruno Mars! After the story of Mars, we know the success came from his dream. Then, let’s suppose, what would happen without his dream? Would he be so successful? Would he release so many hit songs? Would he get seven awards? No, he wouldn’t, absolutely not! So, I think that dream is the most important thing that we could never let pass. We should stick to our dream, and then harvest our own success!
Class 6 Tang Zongye
“Sports and health”
Does little time mean no exercise? Apparently, it is wrong. Why should we do sports? What can we benefit from it? Here are some answers. Your ability to resist pressure is getting stronger and stronger. Be good for your brains! A good way to make friends! Physical exercise can cultivate your taste, maintain a healthy state of mind, and give full play to the initiative and creativity of the individual. Thus, we can improve our self-confidence and values, and make a healthy and harmonious development of the personality in a harmonious atmosphere. So why not start doing sports regularly right now?
Class 4 Feng Hang
“Mini games and their effects”
We can conclude from these charts that WeChat Mini Games are becoming more and more popular. Also, these games focus mainly on the users’ pleasure. It’s true that mini games are a great source of relaxation. However, mini games have some negative effects. To deal with that, an important way is to manage our time better. Maybe set an alarm clock, or ask someone to wake you up from your long dream of games, etc. Just remember one thing in particular: time is not innumerable. On the contrary, it’s precious. You also have to have a strong mind to drag yourself back from those games.
Class 5 Lei Ninglan
“Environmental protection”
The researchers found that not only the mussels as well as pollutants survive in the polluted waters. Moreover, the whole area of mussels cleared an average of 12 million liters of water daily, removing 160kg of water pollutants. But it’s not enough when there are only mussels working hard to protect them. I think that every person should be responsible for this problem. I suggest that we should try not to litter or pollute waters. I believe that if everyone does their best to clean the world up, prevent themselves from filling the earth with dirty water, environmental problems will disappear some day in our lifetime!
Class 3 Chi Chengyun
“Global warming”
Global warming, is the observed century-scale rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system and its related effects. In short, the earth is becoming hotter and hotter every year. As we know now, global warming has done a lot of damage on Earth--the very and only planet where we can rely on to survive. So, don’t hesitate to take action to protect our environment before global warming comes to more harm!
Class 6 Zhao Yizhou
“How to be a better self?”
It is true that as we reach adolescence(青春期), you know, we pay more and more attention to our outer appearance. We will feel depressed if we are not satisfied with our appearance. What I am trying to say here is that a more handsome and prettier self in outer appearance certainly doesn’t mean a better self. Pressure has two sides; it can make you be a better person, but also make you want to give up everything. What really matters is how we are going to deal with it. When facing it, don’t forget that we are all behind you and will always offer help, we, are never opponents, and we, should help each other to be a better self. So why not try to recognize yourself correctly, be an all-round person and deal with pressure in a positive way from this special moment, and I’m sure you will all become a better self.
Class 7 Gao Shenhong
“Justify games”
Games are what we teenagers love and are even addicted to sometimes. But today I am not going to talk about whether it is good for us to play games, but rather I would love to share with you what really good games are supposed to be like and how we are advised to identify the first-rate game designs from those bad and low ones. Thus, we should enable ourselves to embody good tastes in the future. By the way, we must know clearly that right now it is not the proper period of time for us to play games.
Class 3 Luo Jiahang
“Be brave to challenge others”:
What will you do in a math class when the teacher seems to get the wrong answer if all the other classmates keep silent? Last weekend, I conducted a survey on this problem in our class. Overall, everyone makes mistakes. When we have to think carefully about every word of others’, why don’t we point out their mistakes directly to make them realize and correct the mistakes earlier? As a result, when the teacher gives the wrong answer, raising a question directly is the most recommended because of its great efficiency. Telling it to the teacher after class is also a good way, but it’s better to make it clear in class to benefit not only yourself but also all your classmates.
